The pre-cut slots make tying these onto shock cord so much faster than knotting plain ribbon. At 1.9oz each they add basically nothing to my pack weight, and the 16" length gives a nice visible flutter on the way down.

Rip-stop nylon feels way tougher than the cheap plastic ones I've used before, and they billow nicely on the descent. The 1.5-inch width catches air perfectly, and tying them onto the shock cord took me under a minute.

These things catch the wind like crazy on the rocket's way down. The rip-stop nylon feels sturdy and the slot makes tying it onto the shock cord a quick job, even with gloves on.
