High Power Model Rocketry

Altus Metrum EasyTimer

The EasyTimer provides two programmable timer-based pyro channels with tilt limits.

The IMU used is the same as on TeleMega and EasyMega, allowing acceleration based launch detection, and gyro-based tilt limiting. This means it's possible to configure a pyro event for some amount of time after launch, or after motor burnout, etc, with the possibility of locking out each event if the rocket is tilted too far away from vertical.

For projects that require staging or air starts, EasyTimer is a low-cost alternative to use of our more expensive products, while retaining the safety aspects of tilt-limiting.

Harper ★★★★★

The acceleration-based launch detection has been rock solid on every flight, no false triggers even on windy days. Programming the two timer channels took me a few minutes with the data cable, and the tilt lockout gives real peace of mind on odd-angle flights.

Jacob ★★★★★

The tilt limits on both pyro channels saved my dual-deploy setup after a crooked rail launch last weekend. Launch detection off the accelerometer is snappy, no false triggers on the pad. Programming it took a few minutes but the two channels fired right on cue.

Jason ★★★★★

Wired this into a scratch-built rocket and the acceleration-based launch detection worked flawlessly on the first flight. Two pyro channels plus the same IMU as the bigger boards, but at a fraction of the price. Setting the delays took me a few tries to get right, though it's all documented clearly.
